Module 3-Final Project Milestone 1

Q Instructions For Milestone 1, you will be drafting portions of the report related to American history, political culture, and demographics. This Milestone will have four pieces. Overview of the Client’s Product and Services In this scenario, you are serving as the consultant for a transnational corporation that is your client. You have the opportunity to determine what, exactly, the product or service that this corporation provides is. This way, you can select something that interests you or aligns with a potential business idea you have. Then, the rest of your Final Project consists of analyses about the relevant parts of US culture and whether or not your selected business is a good match for expansion into that country.

Q So, in this section of the Milestone, compose a brief overview for the transnational corporation that you will be working with. This section should: • Include the name of the corporation and an outline of the product or service that it provides; you can either create a fictional company based on an idea or business plan that you have or select a real company (that is not currently operating in the United States). • Before you submit your completed Final Project submission at the end of the course, you will revise this section to recommend whether or not to expand to the US market based on the results of the other sections of your Final Project that you will complete later, such as a review demographics, history, politics, and other factors. Note that you are not making this recommendation for this milestone assignment.

Q American Historical and Cultural Analysis In this section, review several aspects of the targeted US market. It should include: A brief review of enduring American historical, cultural, political, and economic values • An assessment of how the transnational corporation’s products or services are compatible with those traditional US values • An evaluation of potential barriers to market entry based on American values and history

Q Demographic Evaluation In this section, you will provide an overview of past, current, and likely future changes in American demographics and potential target audiences for the transnational corporation’s products or services. In this section, you should: • Designate and provide justification for the targeted American demographic groups with the greatest growth potential for establishing a market for the transnational corporation • Include relevant historical trends and projected future trends in addition to the current demographics Potential Impact of the Political Environment In this section, you will review the opportunities and challenges to the transnational corporation’s operations posed by the evolving political environment in the United States. In this section, you should: • Include an assessment of how electoral politics work in the United States at the Federal level • Provide insight as to what might influence the transnational corporation investments and operations given this political system

Q Requirements When complete, your Final Project Milestone 1 submission should meet the following requirements: Your paper should be three and a half to four pages in length total • Each section should be about one page long, except for the Overview of the Client’s Product and Services, which should be about a half a page long • You should have a total of at least three sources, with one for each section, except for the Overview of the Client’s Product and Services. These should be cited in APA format. For a reminder of APA formatting, review this sample paper. • Remember that these sections will be included in a professional report, so be sure to write in a polished and professional tone
